The 25 th anniversary of blur’s seminal debut album Leisure sees the record re-pressed on coloured vinyl and released by Parlophone on 26 th August. Originally released on 26 th August via Food Records, Leisure peaked at # 7 in the UK album chart and announced the arrival of blur. Formed in by Damon Albarn.

Blur's debut mixed abstract My Bloody Valentine-style noise, psychedelic tunefulness and classic British pop, reflecting the use of a handful of different producers. The album peaked at No. 7 on the UK album chart and features many songs dating from Blur's earlier incarnation as Seymour, including "Sing" and first single "She's So High," a song written during their first rehearsal together.

Both songs suggested that Blur was capable of a striking debut album, but Leisure wasn't it. Mired by directionless soundscapes and incomplete songwriting, Leisure was nevertheless full of promise. Whenever the group tread close to the warped psychedelia of Syd Barrett, their compositions sprang to life, and "Sing" was an eerie, entrancing 6/
